Maximum Ride: Book 5 - MAX

Maximum Ride and the other members of the flock have barely recovered from their last Arctic adventure, when they are confronted by the most frightening catastrophe yet. Millions of fish are dying off the coast of Hawaii and someone--or something--is destroying hundreds of ships. Unable to discover the cause, the government enlists the flock to help them get to the bottom of the disaster before it is too late.

When the planet faced destruction, they saved it. Now the battle for survival rages on. This time, the flock is in too deep.

While Max and her team are exploring the depths of the ocean, their every move is being carefully tracked by Mr. Chu--a criminal mastermind with his own plans for the flock. Can they protect themselves from Mr. Chu's army of mercenaries and save the ocean from utter destruction?


Language
To start things off, we have 19 misuses of the Lord's name, 9 uses of 'heck' 7 of 'crap' and 3 of 'gosh' Max 'squelched some extra colorful words' There are some 'BS' jokes.

Sexual Content
Angel says that Max should perhaps 'give Fang more' Max is considerably alarmed, and only partially reassured when she learns that Angel was speaking of marriage. There's talk of how the flock is made up of kids fertilized in test tubes. There is a strange kissing scene between Max and Fang, where they are kissing 'hungrily', alone, on a beach, and end up by laying side by side, staring at the sky. Did I mention that Max is 14? Max and Fang kiss 3 more times.

Violence
The usual strange slapstick stuff.

Max? Check. Megalomaniac? Check. Kissing? Check. Funny but crude jokes? Check. Convincing and engaging plot? The plot's on vacation.
That was pretty much my reaction. PG again. Yes I know the picture is horrible. Get over it.
